    Default Double Hook Rig Storage

Like a lot of folks, I fish with a double hook rig similar to the KY rig or C&C rig. I like to tie my own and take plenty of pre-tied rigs on the boat so Im not tying rigs on the water. I've noticed most of you guys use the plastic rig holders or pool noodles to store your rigs. I thought I'd share my technique since I havent seen it up here before. I use foam paint rollers. You can get them in multi-packs from Lowe's for around $1 a piece. I write the weight size on each one in magic marker for easy ID when on the water. Name: roller.jpg

Hook the 2 hooks together then put the loop they make over the reel and crank the reel until the slack is out without bending the rod. You can then twist the line around the rod and hook that over the bottom eye. They will always unwrap right, quickly, with no tangles.

I use pole noodles cut in 1 foot lengths to wrap my 2 hook rigs on. You can find them after summer really cheap. I just try to wrap them all the same direction, really tight.

Hook your bottom hook in the hook keeper. I leave a little slack so I can wrap my line and hook it behind an eye. Then I'll hook a large rubber band in the top hook, stretch it up and hook the rubber band over an eye. It works great. The sell the "File Bands" at Wal Mart.

I use 5" electrical velcro cable ties. They work great, I will post a pic later of it. Rarely a tangle, quick on and quick off.
