    Default New Drain Plug Tool

I have had a hard time getting the drain plugs tight. I had to cut about 1/4 inch off each side of the T handle so the handle wouldn't hit the trim tabs on my Pondtoon. I got tired of fooling with pliers, so I modified a 11/32 nut runner with a groove using my Dremel. Arthritis sucks.

Thought I would pass the info on to all.

Next most obvious tweek to that "instrument", for those that may not have the hand strength to hold the handle & twist/turn it hard enough to get the plug in nice & snug .... would be to drill a hole thru the plastic handle & glue a crossbar into the hole, turning it into a T bar grip.

Yes arthritis does indeed suck! My youngest son is about to have both knees replaced due to that! I have my own issues with it as well and teamed with carpal tunnel in both hands also makes for something else that sucks!
Looks like you have a good tools there though!

Made myself a tool a few months ago. Will fit the kind with tab you grip with your thumb or the kind with the pin ends. Might not work if you trim the pins. But helps those of us with arthritis grip down and really tighten the plug. Used 1/2 pvc and cut slots with a dremmel. Name: tool.jpg
