    Default Neely Today 1/20

Well it started out looking like I was going to strike out today! I only caught two crappie in my honey hole...so I started hunting for some warmer water! Found a pocket that was 49 to 50 degrees and wham....fish on! We caught 43 keepers over ten inches and about ten throw backs. All were caught on cork set at about 4' over a jiffy jig and depth was between 5' and 8' deep.

Very nice. Were you casting and retrieving the jig under the bobber. Was there a spring or something in the area making the water that warm or just because it was shallower. I went to shallow water today but made no diff in temp.

I was casting and retrieving but actually would let it sit and just shake it a bit....bite was mostly light today. Not sure what caused water to be warmer....never fished this spot before? I believe it may be a spring as the water was 8 degrees warmer in this area? May have hit the mother load? Lol.

Yea, I bet your dying to get back out there and see if there still there. You need to look at a map and see if it shows anything in the ares.

Great catch Jason. Wish I could get in some like that. Since retiring I have fished less than I did before and I am not liking that. Hope that will change when the weather warms up a little.

Congrats on a great catch. Definitely want to have that spot marked on your GPS.
