    Default Bonehead braid

Rather than continue the thread on PowerPro I decided to give this report a thread of it's own. As some of you are aware Josh offered 5 spools of braid for testing and I was one of the lucky ones to have his name in the group.

Well true to his word, Josh sent me a spool of Bonehead 12 pound test orange braid. It came in yesterday, now that's fast shipping, just in time for me to put in on a new rod and reel I received for Christmas. Just in time also for an overnight trip I have planned for today. I like the feel of the line and the looks of the orange color. I'm having eye issues right now and hope the color helps me. Thanks Josh for the opportunity to test this line and give feedback. It went on the reel without a hitch and I did a few sample casts in the yard. It cast as slick as can be and very far with a 1/16 jig on a rod with a rather stiff tip. I rather a faster tip on my rods but this is what opportunity gave me so here we go. If all goes well I will report back after the trip my opinion of the braid and it's performance. I'm not a professional tester or fisherman but I do know what I like and will share my thoughts. If time allows I will put the rest of the spool on one of my jig poles and also give that a try since I use jig poles at least 75 percent of the time.

Thanks again Josh for the braid and the chance to test it.

I'm interested in your thoughts and perceptions Paw Paw as I've been thinking about braided line here lately myself so I'm starting my research.

Hey Pappa, get some and spool up! Been fishing the bonehead braid since last summer. If you don't like it, I'll buy it off of you. PPG waiting on your review, like to see what you think!

When I spool up, does the same techniques apply as mono? You know, how it comes off the spool etc. to keep line twist out?

I think Josh said the 12lb Orange was out of stock. I would like to try it.
