    Default Biggest slab ever?

I wasn't there, but got this pic from someone who knows this guy. Caught in Cane River Lake in Louisiana over the holiday. Claims are this fish was 6 pounds, and I have little doubt the source is not good. I personally have never heard of one this big, anyone else?

Well, he's using Roland Martin's patented "Hold It Close to the Camera So It Looks Like a Monster" pose, but that is very deceiving. With no scales or measurements, your guess is as good as mine.

My guess is well below six pounds.

    According to this : http://landbigfish.com/staterecords/...tate=Louisiana ... yes !!

According to IGFA and most other "official" records ... no. The Enid Lake 5lb 3oz Crappie is still considered the biggest Crappie ever caught. Rumors of 6 & 7 pound Crappie are out there, but none have been "officially certified".

I notice that he was holding it out a little but his elbow is bent. Odds are we will never know, the catcher could care less, regardless it is the biggest I have ever seen, and the guy that witnessed the fish is a stand up guide. Makes the 2 pounders I caught look like minnows. I'd be mounting that one

Still a really nice fish. I wouldn't mind have a cooler full half that size.

I caught many that size in my younger days when I fished round the clock, not caught any like it in a while but it is well under 6 lbs.
