    Default battery cold weather


    i was wondering if your boat is outside unprotected from the weather how cold would it have to get before you took your batteries in or w ould you take them in my shed is not heated

    I'm pretty sure you'll be fine in NC as long as you keep them charged
    up pretty good - something about they won't freeze as long as they
    are "hot". I don't ever do anything with mine in the Winter, unheated shed.
    (other than leaving onboard charger hooked up)

    You should only have to charge the batteries before you go out the first time in the spring.

    I'm in SE VA and mine stays covered outside. Never take the batteries out but I leave the on board charger plugged in. Never a problem.

    I always take mine out. I charge them once or twice during the winter. If a bat. looses a charge it can freeze and bust. (there is water in the cells) I live in Indiana so it gets COLD here.
