if you are not using the bait tank on the boat, but for storage at home, simply get you a small pond pump like used in the yard ponds and replace the rule with the yard pump with the same gph of the rule, which is probably 500 gph. but if you gonna do that go ahead and make you a holding tank out of a 55 gallon plastic drum. just add a yard pump, aerate it with a spray head and filter it and it will hold minnows forever. that way you can save your bait tank for the boat. thats what i done
