    Default Looking for recommedations

I am looking for recommendations for a basic fly rod set up for around a hundred bucks. The wife has decided that I can have one for Christmas but money is tight, I know it is all over. LOL I am mainly wanting to fish stock rainbows and panfish such as perch and brim wiith it.

    Thanks folks,

    Bobo

Nothing like a G-loomis flyrod setup but pricey,White River fly rods are a close second and more afforable!!! White River fly shop!!!

Get an 8.5' or 9' five-weight combo. Some to consider:

    1. http://www.amazon.com/Scientific-Ang...ntific+anglers

    2. http://www.basspro.com/Redington-Cro...duct/10210402/

    3. Any Bass Pro or Cabela's outfit in your price range.

Also, learning the basics of casting is way more important than whatever outfit you choose. So, either watch some Youtube videos or order a good fly casting DVD. It will save you years of frustration. (The Sci Anglers outfit comes with a DVD.)

Thank you folks. It looks like IkenI has got me set up. The more I look at these vintage rods the more I think I may need to start collecting them. Some of these things look to nice to fish with. LOL

Just want to give another shout out to IkenI for the wonderful gift that he gave me today. I will use it with great care. It is pretty enough to be a museum piece

    Thank you,
