Does anyone use the Harbor freight Solar kit to charge boat? I am looking to put one on my dock to charge my boat when I am at work during the week.

I would make sure they will either replace it or refund your money before buying. I've not used one but just saying what I would do if I were to buy one.

Unless you are looking at the 45W setup, forget it. The 45W unit doesn't seem to have a charge controller, so I'd be worried about overcharging. You'd need one for each battery to charge at any reasonable rate.

I did get the 45w and I was going to run that to my onboard dc charger which will charge the whole boat. The kit has a charge controller

For a three battery system, 45W is only about 1A per battery on a bright sunny day . Charging that slowly will shorten the life of the batteries, and may not get them fully charged. Even on a 2 battery system it will be pretty weak.

I had a BPS solar charger for 2 wks and took it back. Boiling the battery was normal business. I was less than happy.
