    Default Fishin' Big

    Does anyone else fish BIG... for BIG Slabs?
    These are the swimbaits that I use for Crappie.
    Anyone else go against the norm.

    I don't use those baits for crappie but I would like to put them on Alabama Rigs for Largemouth and Stripers. What brand are they and where do you get them?

    They are Keitech Swimbaits....Easy Shiner is the Shad Profile, they have it in 3" to 5"...The skinney ones are Swing Impacts, from 3 to 4.5 inches....the Swing Impact Fats are from 2.8" to 5.8".

    I first started using these for Bass 7-8 years ago and the Crappie were just killin" them, so I gave away all my small and Micro Crappie stuff and fill both my freezers every year with BIG Slabs on BIG Baits...it's alot more fun because they just don't peck at the bait...they smash it like a Bass!
    When the water gets colder, I downsize to 2-3 inchers and fish them SLOW.

    I Don't know who would carry them in NC, but I get mine from;

    To get the Chartreuse color etc...I used the sight flash, which is white on top and clear silver flake on the bottom and dye them with COMPONENT SYSTEMS worm dye UV glow!

    Those are pretty good little dudes. The very smallest ones I would use for crappie and the rest definitely are good for bass.

    I fish alot of brush piles and i started using 3" baits this year as soon as I pull up on a piles to try and pull the big ones off first. Then switch to smaller baits. It seemed to work I caught more big ones this year. IDK if i am just getting better at it or it was the baits. I did catch some big ones on 3 inch senkos rigged texas style when the fish are less than 15ft in piles.

    To get colors Keitech doesn't make, I dye them....see above! It's very easy and Big Slabs love them...I haven't found anything yet that swims as well as the Keitech's.
