    Default Medina Lake fishing Report

First- I must say me and the boys were not in this much of a hurry!

We headed up the lake into the river but the water didn't look very good. The lake is probably 35' low. We were mainly there to put some hours on the boat motor and fish a little.

Went back up towards the dam and found some nicer looking water.

    and a couple fish

Went back to the marina where they were feeding "their" fish.

Had a good day with my boys. This was the first time I fished with a slip bobber. I really enjoy watching a cork. Caught two fish off of minnows.

    Default Medina Lake

    Hey D'Hanis Dude

Good catch. I have never caught a crappie of Medina during the day. Usually at night over in Sawmill cove. Were you fishing pretty deep? Also was that Joe's place that they were feeding the catfish.

    Thanks

Sawmill Cove is my nightspot too. Right off the point on that drop off that's now out of the water. Haven't caught any there though the last two tries.

I caught these fish in about 25' of water probably 12' deep under a float.

    That was Joe's Marina.

I would only fish Medina if I was short on time. Choke or Amistad would be my real choices. Fishing is better than doing honey do's:D

I'm sure there are a few places to BBQ but I've never done that there.

Awesome pics!!! Making memories!!! Too bad that ole boy was running his motor trimmed to high. A little lower and he could get another 5mph or so, lol.

    Hey D"Hanis Dude

Agreed that Choke is much better if you have the time. Have you been able to locate crappies at Choke. Only area I really know is the 99 bridge and Mason Point in the spring

Only time I ever caught crappie on Choke was in the spring at Mason Point. However, I have not really gave it an honest effort during summer and winter. Just got back into fishing after a boat purchase. The last few times I fished at Choke I targeted catfish.

I'm going to figure those suckers out though.
