This deer season has been a great one with a bunch of wonderful memories made. The weather was terrible with the trees iced up and the grey clouds hanging low. Bored of watching t.v all day Lil bowhunter asks to go hunting. I ask mom if she would like to go and we scrambled for clothes and guns and made the short drive to deer camp. Driving in we see deer along the road and our anticipations were elevated even higher for a good deer sighting. We are all bundled up and head off to our stand. Both directions from the stand are covered by each girl. We whisper and sing Christmas carols and poke fun on each other. The afternoon light is fading fast when lol bow hunter says i see a deer dad. I did not even have time to say anything and she was in full deer hunting mode. Her .243 barks and me and momma watch the deer run off. Spirits were high as we gathered our belongings and went to see if her aim was true. Crimson red painted the road as we approached the deer trail. Momma waited on the trail and me and lil bowhunter went a tracking. After a short distance we came upon her trophy. This nanny doe is huge and was all me and lol bowhunter could do to drag her out. I am proud of her for holding out so long this year trying for a big buck. She is an excellent shot and makes us dry proud!!!
