Clear skies with an approaching
cold front due to hit around 5pm,
water temp. 71.3 at 7am climbing
to 74.8 by 1pm, 13 teams took on
the 2,500 plus Lake Tarpon. Wind stayed
calm to 2=8 mph most of the tournament.
Two (2) posiionss paid for "Big Fish"

1 lb. 8.2 oz
3 10ths oz between 2 fish, caught at
opposite ends of lake
Three (3) positions paid for "7 fish total catch weight"

Three (3) oz separated first to third
and were all caught in different locations
in lake
Franks team worked a modified spider
rig system (push-pull) with Deep-South
& BnM rods, using "pop-eye" 32 nd & 48th
oz jig, minnow tipped (black head, yellow
hair tail & white head, chart. tail in 9 -
10 ft water.
Cole team spider-rigged minnow tipped
with Wally-Marshall rods, Skipper & Ron's
zip jigs 16th oz, hot-pink, orange, black
& black-chart. in 11 - 13' water.
McGhee team employed "push-pull
long-ling method, Deep-South rods,
Ron's zip, hot pink, awd curley tails
black, chart tails, & mid-south "super
jigs" 1000 c's. chart with rainbow blecks
in.
Lake Tarpon is a color senitive lake, whereby, need to change colors often
to stay up with the bite
This was last tournament 2013 schedule.
Next tournament will be the Florida
State Championsip Classic, Lake Crescent, Crescent City, Florida with the
largest group of 35 teams qualifying for event this year.
