    Default La Cygne 11/18

Hit La Cygne with a friend that never went there before. We hit the lake at 10 am, there were tons of shad all over the lake. Got a 16" wiper at the hot water spot. Then move to fish at the outlet. got 80+ small cat fish. they are all 5-6" inch...... no sign of cappie.....Water temp is 55-56 arround the lake and 58-60 at the outlet of power plant.
Go home about 4pm empty handed.

I went about a month ago but did catch some cats that were worth keeping but yes, there are lots of small ones there. Even found a couple keeper crappie which is very rare for me @ that lake as I don't usually go there to fish for crappie. Shad are everywhere.

I was thinking it was werid that the water discarge is not that warm, it is about 2 degree different. I di som reading and found that the power plant is not "running" I did not see smoke. According to the article, the water will be at high 60s to low 70s when the plant is "running" and that is the time the fish will bite....... don't know if this is right. but is there a way to find out the plant schedule? and web page?

I tried contacting the power plant last year before heading down there and they would not disclose whether they were producing electricity or not, maybe some kind of security measure I guess. So you prob wont be able to find any place on the web that has that info? IM not sure if you can call the bait shop there at the boat ramp and if they would tell you or not either?

Everyone is pretty tight lipped about the status of those power plants. Apparently it is on a need to know basis and we dont need to know...

Wolf Creek will be producing hot water till it comes down for outage in February. Can get on whites and wipers there.
