Night Fishing South Sauty 11-9-13

I thought since we had not done well in the daylight hours that we would give night fishing a shot. It was not one of our best trips with 25. However, they were good fish. The best thing is the stripe were not there. Those things will wipe out your minnow bucket. Never saw any shad under the light and the crappie seemed to not be attracted to the light as most of the fish were away from the boat on corks. I will be a while before I get to go again, good luck and stay warm if you go.

sometimes the light brings them close but they will hang out away from the direct light. I have caught a lot of crappie in the past out in the darkness just outside the lights. Were you fishing under the bridge and I assume since you were fishing floats you were using minnows.

Yes, we were under the bridge and caught most on minnows, but we did catch some with jigs.

Great job. Were the fish on jigs any bigger than the minnow fish?

I love that area for night fishing. The causeway around the points are great also I caught my 3lb 4 oz crappie close by. Good report thanks.
