Sweet!
Put in at free ramp off of 240th St. got blown around like a bobber, not much luck. Then about a half hour before dark I saw the birds circling in the channel, slow trolled a couple roadrunners thru the area and both poles lit up. Got some whites and couple specs. Very fun half hour!!!
Sweet!
Good job!
it pays to pay attention to your surroundings! some of my best days happened after similar sightings and curious investigation
Congrats!

Did you have to go far to find fish? I've never used that ramp and haven't heard much good about it.
cool, never tried there. fow?
Sweet, I have not caught a white yet out at Smithville, still trying
I kinda found these going back to the ramp and kept circling from the ramp to under the bridge. It's my go to place to get shad for limb lines in the river, usually a lot of shad in that area. Fall seems to be the only time I can have any luck there, I have some caught some decent crappie under that bridge, but it can be kinda spotty. The ramp itself is not the best, if I put in by myself I always walk away with wet feet. Back in the early 90's that channel was about 20', but it has silted in so bad it's about 10 to 12 FOW now at best. It's always fun to get in on some those whites with light tackle, I probably missed more than I caught.
I have caught a lot of my whites just off the ramps. I think they like the rock bottoms there.
Yep, I agree. I think those rocks hold a little heat and draw the baitfish in and start the food chain. I haven't really had much luck on whites in the main lake like I have there. I have thought about just trolling along the dam for them, we had good luck doing that in Clearwater lake when I was a kid.
