I've found a 9 dollar pole is a 9 dollar pole for a reason.
I have some Crappie Wizzards 10 & 12 footers has a foam or cork handle with reel seats and soft tip with enough backbone to hog one out of the water. You can get them at www.crappiewizard.com, but you can buy them www.GrizzlyJig.com in MO. about $28 each. I have 12 of them and I love them.

I recently bought 5 of the 13' B'n'M slo-troller rods. I think they might be what you are looking for. The price pretty much works out to $1 per foot. You can match them up with any reel that you want. Can't beat the sale price right now. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...377&hasJS=true
