4 lb crappie

We went to look at a house a week or so ago and the guy that owned it has mounts of all kinds of animals all over the place. Some of the most beautiful and imaginative taxidermy mounts I've seen but then I'm no taxidermy critic. It just so happens his son is the taxidermist. Setting behind a chair by the fireplace though was the biggest crappie I've ever seen. I asked him if me minded me taking a picture of it with my phone and he didn't. This thing was H U G E!!!! He said it weighed over 4 lbs. Unfortunately, I didn't even think to ask him where he caught it. The jig in it's mouth gives some sense of the size of it, but not how thick it was. The magazines in the rack below though do help in gauging its size. He told me I could pick it up and I wish I had to get a better picture of it but I didn't. It truly was a trophy. I never knew crappie got that big.
