Once again Thursday cold front
played havoc with Mr Crappie, dirving
the fish to deeper waters and
suspending. Air temp. started out
54 degree, 6:30am, wind out of n/e
8-9.5 mph and this was the good part
of the day. By 10am winds were at
11-14 mph bracket, white capping,clear
sunny skies with temp in mid 60's as
17 serious crappie teams competed on
the 5,850 acres of Lake Sante-Fe.
(Sante-Fe, spring fed, clear and one of
deepest (4th) in Florida. Head water of
Sante-Fe river) At times the word
"Tuff fishing" was an under statement.

Two (2) positions paid for "Big Fish"

1st: Ricky Williams
1 lb. 11.0 oz

2nd: Sylvester & Bernard Smith
1 lb. 8.0 oz

Three (3) positions paid for "7 fish
total catch weight"

1st: Jeff & Dawn Brown
7 lbs. 5.0 oz

2nd: Darryl & Terri Cole
6 lbs. 15.0 os

3rd Ricky Williams
6 lbs 3.3 oz

Mixed group of spider riggers & long
liner specialists were involved.

Brown team long-lined with comb. 16',
12' & 8' Wally Marshall rods, using AWD
& Slider 16th oz jigs, rigged with various
dark colored AWD, Charlie Brewer & Big
Bites grubs.

Cole team spider rigged, minnow tipped
using Wally Marshall rods 14 & 10 & 8',
multi colored jigs/grubs made by Ron's
Zip, LakeFork & Skipper Jigs. Again dark
colors were word of day. Fish were
located in 18 - 25 ft from 2 to 8' off
bottom, suspending along various
contours.

Next & last tournament of 2013 will be
at Lake Tarpon, Tarpon Springs, Fl, Hwy
19 south, Anderson Park public ramp.
