Went out yesterday morning about 5-11. The wind was whipping and the bite was slow. I fished the same area as last week and the fish were there but had to really work for a bite and it was not a productive morning ended up with only nine 10 or better threw back 10-11 they were 9 or smaller and caught about 3 lb bass fish were caught on monkey milk in 16-18ft of water.

when you say vertical jigging were you fishing over structure or maybe a drop off in 16 ft of water ,or are the fish just suspended in the 16 ft open water??I have never been able to find fish in open water unless there is a dropoff or trees or structure they are hanging over.SOunds like fun fishing if they are just hanging suspended !!
