    Default What are these?

I was scouting next to the Arkansas River and these were all over the ground. Does anyone know what they are. Photo next to bottle cap for size reference.

Fish nuts. You put em on the end of the limb an a squirrel will eat em. While the squirrel is eating the nut a big old green carp will jump out of air and eat the squirrel. You use a squirrel tail jig and catch the bass. Old time told me about that trick.

Did you try any of them? We have some pretty berries growing on a vine here at the Port. I tasted one; it was kind of sweet and peppery. I didn't try any more once I observed the birds wouldn't eat them.

Don't look quite like buckeye's to me. Kinda similar though.

I agree. They appear considerably small to be buckeyes.
