    Question Needing fish finder advice

I fish mainly from the bank and dock about 75 feet off the bank. I am wanting to find a portable/handheld fish finder. Any suggestions of brand? Any links to ones for sale or leads would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Here is one, but at best it might tell you where a brush pile is located.

Thanks, Sea! Seeing this made me scratch around the web and found: Brand New Humminbird Smartcast RF25 406250 1 082324029462 | eBay

Both look rather unique. Might have to give one of them a shot.

You need to rig it for spider rigging. Wonder how many you could get on before they pulled it under? That is way cool.

If you do get a Smartcast...remember...

The pod is "Water activated" and storing it in a wet tackle box could turn the pod on and run the battery down...

And the battery in the pod is not replaceable to my knowledge....

Why on earth would they make it so you can't replace the battery?? Can you buy just the pod?? If so, how much? I would not have expected that from HB products.

Yep, you can buy the pod (rf transducer). Last one I purchased was 25 bucks (2 years ago). I need another as the one I have has died of old age.

A replaceable battery in the pod would make Eveready or Duracell $$..

    A non-replaceable battery makes HB $$...
