Minn Kota...Minn Kota...Minn Kota

I've used several others, Minn Kota has outlasted all of them.

I've had my MinnKota 2 bank on my boat for years. Now that I'm running a 24 volt TM system, I wish I had a big 3 bank. Maybe Santa is listening.

MK or Dual pro.

Just remember this! Waterproof don't mean submersible. Mount it hi and dry if you can.

I have a Minn Kota 315D (3 Banks @ 5 amps each). I leave it plugged in all the time since it has a maintenance mode which keeps the batteries topped off leading to a longer life. I got it when Minn Kota was running a sale this summer with a $20 mail-in rebate on top of the sale.

For a single battery I would go with a Schumacher portable.

I really like Dual-pro for onboard (made in US and are repairable if something goes wrong) but don't see the need for a single battery.

I bought the BPS store brand, dual pro sounds familiar and have had no trouble with it. Lightning will take em out in a blink, so be sure to unplug in electrical storms if you can.

My 2000 Tracker came with a BPS 2 bank charger and it is still going strong. I leave it plugged in all the time, check the battery water too, but so far it has not overcharged or damaged any batteries.
I am a MK fan and if I had to replace it I would go with a MK. For all I know MK may make the BPS units.

There are several good brands on the market. But no matter what brand you buy I recommend using a good surge supressor to protect it.

I have a Minkota for my trolling motors, but a NOCO Genius G3500 6V/12V 3.5 Amp Smart Battery Charger and Maintainer on my main battery, I would have bout the same for my trolling motors had I know any better.
