    Default newbie from Central Florida

    Hello,

newbie here from Apopka, FL. Am interested in learning more about crappie fishing, mainly the lake Dora / Beauclair area. Looking for somewhere to take my kids and let them catch a few. Also interested in meeting new people that share the love of fishing. I've been bass fishing for many years now, want to try something different!

    WELCOME:

Check out the threads about slabfests and slabtogether.

On November 16, 2013 we will be having a slabtogether on Lake Harney, http://www.crappie.com/crappie/flori...ke-harney.html

We have not scheduled any events on Lake Dora/Carlton/Beauclair this year. The 2013-2014 schedule is here: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/flori...btogether.html

We are the group which I think you are looking for, as we all have the same desires.

Welcome to the fun of fishing in Florida....
As Flycaster said come join and meet people at a Slabfest........they will point
you in right direction to have fun fishing for Crappie. Several live in and around your
area and will be more than happy to help you get started fishing for Spec's in
Florida, which is whole lot different than fishing for them up North.

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
