    Default My fave Crappie lures!

Fishing for Crappie with my spin rod this year, I have had the best success with:

Drop Shot, Carolina, or Jig using:

    #1 - Micro Spoon plastics

    #2 - Gulp Alive minnows (smelt) 1" and 2 1/2"

    #3 - Tungsten head white Woolybugger (size 10 3X)

Other than live minnows, what is your favorite lure for lake Crappie?

I have nothing to do with Micro Spoons, but I think their plastic is the best by far. Soft and super tough, and a wiggly tail with realistic eyes:

    MEATGETTER's Spanky

Most locals know I fish two baits and one color a large percentage. They call the Southern Pro Umbrella tuble in purple/chartruse rigged with a 1/8 round leadhead on #2 hook pushed inside a ''nimrod special'' and the other bait is a MEATGETTER in 1/8 in a Spanky.

    #1 marabou and chenille jig

    #2 marabou and chenille jig

    #3 marabou and chenille jig

If none of them work, try a marabou and chenille jig.

    HC,

Yeah, I forgot all about those tiny tubes. I've been spendin' a ton of money on Gulp and all the online expensive new lures!

The next time I'm at WalMart, I'll pick up a couple bags of 1 1/2" tubes ...... only a buck for a whole bag!
