A carpeted 2 x 6 board works well. I put non-skid tape on my new boat trailer but still thinking about a carpeted board like I had on my old one.
Do any of you have anything to walk on at the tongue of your trailer?
I'd like to rig something up before winter gets here.
Thinking about alum. plate bolted down somehow.

Adding a non-skid surface to whatever you manufacuter would probably be a good idea.
My trailer has a welded aluminium cat walk down the center. It was factory rigged that way. The bottomb is aluminium great.
Doug put wide adhesive grip tape he bought at Tractor Supply on the tongue .I added some to the fenders so it's less slick when I climb out of the boat. Worked great. - Roberta

I used a piece of 3/4 plywood 3 ft long and put the sticky strips for showers on it. bolted it on with 3" u bolts
I do. My uncle made this. He used scraps from when he worked construction. Here is a picture, it goes all the way down the middle of the trailer, and I use it everytime I put the boat in or take it out of the water...Originally Posted by freeflow_23
