156 in less than a month

In the attempt to learn how to use the 898 I now find that I have 156 wpts with pix on the SD card and unit map. Most of these are repeat shots to see which one is better as I play with the settings and some are key areas I want to remember for later trips.

Now I'll have to go through and delete stuff not needed but this is going to take time. Can a snapshot be saved without a wpt or does this take place every time? If this is going to happen every time I see that a log will have to be kept of things I want to remember so the others can be deleted after getting home.

My home lake looks like one big blue dot in some areas lol

Unfortunately a waypoint is set every time a snapshot is created...

This has been on the HB Wishlist for some time now...

Try to learn to delete the waypoint as soon as the snapshot is created so that it's easier to figure out which waypoints are needed and which are not...

So if I'm running a cove and take 5 snapshots, when I get done I go back into the unit and delete 4 of the five off the unit and leave the 1 that has the best pix and a true gps location...this will leave the SD card with 5 snapshots or are they deleted as well?

The reason I ask is due to using those extra snapshots and setting to compare once at the house. I then log down what worked and what was changed to get there. Some may think this is just time consuming but the snapshots I'm starting to come back home with are way better than when I first started. Plus it's one of the fun parts of having SI

Yes you can delete the waypoints without deleting the screen snapshot (vice versa as well).

Always bummed be out when just trying to get shots. Seems like it would be an easy enough fix, and people have been asking for it for years.
