    Default Drop shot help

Can someone tell me how you set up to drop shot? I am guessing that you have a small weight at the end of the line (how small?) with a hook further up the line (what size hook) (how much further up the line from the weight do you tie the hook?)

I am thinking that you cast this out and bring it back with a slow steady retrieve. Right?

I've been drop shotting for a lot of years now, but I still refer to the "Guru" of drop shotting, RichZ. Here's a link to his blog, which explains it all in great detail:

    Thanks Crestliner08,

I used to drop shot for bass before I found the purer faith (crappie) My first instinct is to fish crappie, bluegill the say way but I will red Rich's blog as well.

    Thanks again

Just remember, drop shotting for crappie isn't all that different. It's just a matter of downsizing line. Although I sometimes just use everything the same, except for the offering at the hook.
