    Default reel questions for crankbaits

Do any of you use these reels for trolling cranks and if so how do they perform. Just wonder if I would be alright buying less expensive reels like these and just adding line counters. What are some less expensive line counter reels you have had good performance trolling cranks with? Lew's® Wally Marshall Signature Series Crappie reel or Mr. Crappie® Slab Shaker™ Baitcast

Mississippi state board pulling cranks 101 has lots of trolling info. I have the Okuma 15dx line counter reels. To me they are worth the price. I would not go down the line counter road.

Just estimating, if the slab shaker is $15 and a counter for it is $15, plus if you are having in shipped then you could have $35-$40 in one reel. Depending on how many you are planning on getting, the Okuma's 15 will still be cheaper.

Another Okuma user. The 15's are the only way to go. Use dirt cheap line as a backer then tie on line of your choice to continue to fill the reel, make sure the reel is full for the counter to be most accurate.

Okuma Magda Pro Line Counter MA-15DX

Right now it says they are out of stock. Never seen this before but is the cheapest place by far to buy them.

Says call for pricing. Can't believe they are out of all models
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

They are not sold out, they just don't put pricing on it. Call and talk to Matt. They are $28.99 each.
