Way to go! good job. Welcome aboard. CF
Trolled using Capps & Coleman rigs from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. fishing a Creek Channel in 15 feet of water. I could see the Crappie stacked up on my Fishfinder. My minnows were trolled 12 feet deep. I have 5 spots marked on my GPS I usually do very well on but never had to leave this one spot. I had the opportunity of using 6 Rods for the first time ever, after several doubles and a triple and a 6lb Large Mouth I decided to troll with only 3 rods. It was fun fun trying to deal with all those rods.
Most of the fish were 13+ inches I lost several big ones at the boat trying to manuever with all those rods. I even landed my first ever Hybrid Crappie it had a thick black line down the middle.
Here are some photos of today's catch:

That probably wasn't a "hybrid Crappie" ... more likely a Arkansas Blacknose (Black Crappie with genetic marker). They're stocked in a lot of the TN waters.Originally Posted by trsteele

Probably looked something like this one :

I've caught quite a few from Watts Bar Lake, in East Tenn. and even a few from a small local lake. Center Hill is supposed to have quite a few in it, too. KY Lake also has received a "stocking" of these fish, from what I've heard.
The TRUE Hybrid Crappie:
The "Magnolia Crappie" is a triploid hybrid, a true hybridized fish (done by the F&W Biologists) ... but, I think it's currently only stocked in a few places in Mississippi.
Here's an excerpt concerning this fish:
What is a Magnolia Crappie?
The Magnolia crappie is a triploid hybrid cross between a black-striped black crappie (a scarce color variation of the black crappie) and a white crappie. This fish has a black stripe running from the front of the dorsal fin along the top of the the body, normally extending through to the upper jaw. The eggs and milt are stripped, hand mixed and the eggs are placed in a pressure chamber causing triploidy - the development of 3 sets of chromosomes. The resulting fish is sterile because it has 3 sets of chromosomes. Because they can't reproduce they have been stocked into some smaller water bodies like Lake Charlie Capps where fertile crappie would overproduce and few would grow to a harvestable size due to a lack of enough food.
