    Default Lake Harney

I started fishing for Specks 2 years ago, in the winter. The next year I waited for winter again. This year I have been going the last 2 months with no luck. Any suggestions or should I wait tell Oct?

It should get better, how are you fishin?
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Spec's bite year around..........just are little easier to catch at certain times of
    the year.
Have to vary your methods with the time of year..................
A lot of good Crappie fishermen in your area of state and on this web site.
Pick a couple, send some personal messages and they can and will help you
    tremendously.

One of the hardest things i had to learn when moved from Indiana in 93, was to
forget what had learned and start over as the fish in Florida are almost 180 degrees
different than other parts of us. Bite different, water clearifty out of sight, jigs,
live bait presentation is different... colors are a whole new world ....
Some lakes its best to long-line, others its best to spider rig still others they will
react and respond to single pole jiggin only.... Hot or cold weather makes a big
difference and barameter can change hundred ie: 30.08 to 30.07 and they will
shut off or start up. You can at times find them on a contour less than 6 inches
    different.................
Start yourself a note book, mark things down when they happen and your start to
pick up on what helps what doesn't - moon phases mean a lot down here, also if
you are fishing close to a tidal area such as St Johna area, rise and fall of tide
control a lot.........Things go on and on and on.
Do not, I repeat do not become discuraged...just take your time, observe and ask
questions.... At lot of times what you read in magazines is what fisherman are doing
    in states other than Florida................

Senior, you should come to the Oct slabfest at Monroe & then there is one at Harney in Nov this year.

I agree, these people are here to help you.
    Thanks Bryan...
You guys can cover so much ground talking to a person in person than most
of us could in week with e-mails.........and meet someone new to fishing in
Florida.. Comradship Slab-fest is excellant place to meet someone wanting to
    learn.

    Interesting statement Mike,
Are you saying i should come to Slabfest to learn / teach or have a good time?
Learning, I am always learning, never quits: teach, if i am still learning, i sure as
devil can't teach & as far as good time, I know that i would enjoy myself just being
around you guys, as having already met you, huntin slabs, spectactlure, captn kirk.

Appreciate the invite, but have the Lochloosa tournament to handle that Saturday,
Darryl's daughter is getting married and he has to attend that one or be in big dog
    house rest of life.

My only open date left this year is November 9th...

    10/12 Lochloosa
    10/26 Crooked Lake
    11/23 Lake Tarpon

    12/14 FCC Classic, Crescent Lake.
