My old hot pot was 30 years old then one day mid run it just quit. I figured it had served its time plus I didn't want to risk a fire. I bought a Lee production pot and it was money well spent
Last night I plugged in my pot and when I came back it was still cold. I checked the outlet and it was working as it should. Do you think I wire pulled loose or element gave out?

The coil probably quit working. Is there any visible cracks in it?

always ready to go fishing
When you say hot pot do you mean the little hand held dipper model . On big and little ones like that the wires connecting to the element are bad to corrode . They will break . I'd take off the cover and have a look at that first . Happened several times to me over the years . I have 2 15 pound ladle style lead pots both have done that .
If it's a Lee Pot....probably the coil. They are pretty easy to replace.....with practice. Replaced couple over the years
