I have and like Yamaha......but I would base my decision on a dealer close by for warranty if neded and parts and service
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Suzuki if you have a dealer near by, otherwise Yamaha. I have a Yammie on my boat. You can't really go wrong either way, both make in my opinion the best 4 stroke motors you can buy.

I would also consider which brands have dealers in the areas that you fish. Both brands build a great engine but Yamahammer dealers are easier to find if I needed a part on the road in the areas I fish.

I have a 150 4 stroke Yamaha on my 188 Ranger for 3 years. Been a great motor. A little hard shifting but other than that been a treat . I have a 6 year warranty on mine. Tried to get a Honda and Ranger would not do it even after a no buy threat. I really like the Honda motors.
