Looks like a good day Jerry!
While we were crappie fishing today a 19-inch/3-pound Largemouth Bass apparently took a small Bream right after the Bream had taken one of our minnows. After a pretty good tussle on a 10-foot jig pole the bass expelled the bream just as I scooped it up with the net and the hook was still in the Bream's mouth. It WAS a legal catch because we can use Bream up to 4-inches for bait here.
We ended up with a pretty good mess of fish. Had 15 more Crappie we didn't get in the picture. I think the Fall Feeding Frenzy is on.
When we were heading in late this afternoon we saw a flock of about 20 Wild Turkeys. I got a picture of the biggest group.
Looks like a good day Jerry!

good mess of crappie, Jerry. it's still too warm down here, yet. next week we're to get cooler weather. hope that will turn'em on. have you ever been fishing early in the morning and happen to be close to a tree full of roosting turkeys about the time they decide to wake up? that'll raise your heart rate!!!!!! lol
keep your hooks sharp
I've not had any turkeys come off the roost near us while we're fishing but I have had a huge flock of buzzards do it - kinda creepy!Originally Posted by willsjwills

Great Catch! Your story reminds me of something that happened to me a few years back. I was catching spawning crappie in about 18" of water when I hooked into one about 2 pounds or better. I got her up to the top of the water and was just fixing to slide the net under her when she opened her mouth and about a 4.5 inch yellow bass slid out of her mouth with my jig in its mouth. I got the bass but the big slab got away. I couldn't believe it. It is something i'll never forget.
