I have done the same thing but use Drug store Glycirin with Anise and salt like you. I put my plastics in a baggie and add a few drops.
i have been making a concoction for many years and wondered if anyone else did this. if so share your recipe. mine is a vegetable oil base with a couple drops of anise oil and a teaspoon of salt.

where do you get Anise?
Mike Barnett
Anise oil can be bought in the seasoning isle of the grocery store. Its might be called anise extract.
Last I bought came from drug store and was concentrate.

I'm not sure but doesn't the extract have alcohol in it?
THE BEST TIME TO FISH IS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING
You can get anise oil - it won't have alcohol in it. I use vaseline as my base cause it's thick and will stay on longer. It's my version of "smelly jelly" which I can't find any more.

I do kind of the same thing but also make my own garlic scent with the anise. I take fresh garlic cloves and cook them down in a little vegetable oil. Strain out the chunks and add a little anise in the bottle i put everything in. You have to use a bunch of garlic to get it more concentrated but I think it works.
I use a caning grade of paraffin wax with petroleum jelly add extracts of fish oil or garlic that is sold for soft plastic worms add after the wax and petro. Jelly has melted. Put I. Micro for a min or so. As it cools and before it is back to solid state stir in extracts. Salt and glitter! Works for me! Don't do it mammas micro . Either. I use same micro I heat my plasticsol
