Minnows or jigs

QUESTION FELLAS do jigs work as good in rivers as minnows?

Big tiny, I only use jigs. It seemed that if I bought two dozen minnows I'd catch fish great until I ran out of minnows, but then couldn't buy a bite on a jig. The next trip to the lake I'd buy 6 dozen minnows and drag them around drowning them with out a bite watching $10 or $15 vanish. I finally decided I was going to figure out how to catch them consistently on jigs. If you can find the Crappie, they will bite jigs. Just my 2 cents.

In my experience, it depends on the day. If the fish are more lethargic, letting a minnow "sit in one place" seems to catch more fish. If they are more actively feeding they will bite one about as good as the other (if you have the depth, presentation and color right). That "thump" of one hitting a jig sure has alot of satisfaction to it...

Jigs for me as well. I have used minnows but to me they are more trouble than they're worth. JMO.

I only fish jigs, if they will not bite a jig then I do not catch crappie. By the way since fishing only jigs I catch more than ever with minnows.

I like using a jig with a minnow trailer always has worked good for me.
