Default exactly where to put way point

This may seem like an easy question to answer but I am currently reviewing my fishing log from yesterday, and looking at the down scan log .I see some structure/ brush, that I did not go directly over. I still want to be able to mark this with a waypoint, but I'm afraid since I didn't go directly over it the way point will be wrong. Any ideas where to mark this structure. Thanks

Not sure about the DI view but with SI, mark it where the object meets the shadow.

Wow, I was dumb about this! I thought the waypoint would be the location of the unit at the time that you hit the mark button. I didn't think you could go to the image and select the spot... I need to learn so much... I know that our units are not spot on but closer is better... Thank Brett for that info... Got to get my unit mounted and start practicing with it...

The di beam is going directly left/right from transom. Drop a buoy as you pass over the cover. Then swing boat around and drive along that original beam and drop another buoy. Where the two lines intersect should be the spot. Say you are travelling North on the first pass, the second pass will be East or West right on the original line. Ought to get you pretty near the dead on spot.

Best you can do in that case is to create the waypoint now and then confirm the exact location next time out.

It'd be a lot easier to do if you had good SI

Don't let anyone bull $hit you Brett, you have the best down scan. Here's how I mark mine, no issues going back and finding them.
