Default Got my Dad out today

My Dad has been my fishing mentor most of my life. I guess at some time several years ago we switched roles.

I've been on a good Bandit bite on KY Lake the last few weeks but had never trolled them with Dad. We used to troll a lot with single poles for sauger and white bass but this was going to be a new experience.

We got started right at daylight, which has always been his favorite time to start. Luckily, we got into fish right away. After 2 hours, my trolling motor batteries started dying so I cranked the big motor up and finished out the trip with it and the trolling plate. We ended up with 20 solid keepers, just no big kicker fish. This was also the 1st trip I can ever remember not losing at least one bait.

To say we had a good time was an understatement. Dad is in his late 70s and there is no telling how many more times we will have the chance to make such trips. It was one of our best in years.

Sounds like a great time with your hero. You got that crank bite dialed in. Started back to work last week and have not had a chance to fish. Great report!!!

Sure glad to hear you still taking Him fishing...I lost mine while in the service and stationed over seas...When home on leave I always managed to make time for fishing with pop. You just never know when the Savior is going to bring them to His home....Enjoy while you can...And good job on the big ole' slabs...Nice catch.

That is what memories are made of. Be thankful your dad is still with you and loves to Crappie fish. Take him out again soon.
