Default New to me G3 1584AW

Getting the new G3 ready for winter Crappie fishing. Installed the new Merc 9.9 Bigfoot Friday, went to the local reservoir saturday morning, Run the motor 3hrs slow brake in, then run at full throttle for short period's. Only can get 9.8mph,about 800lbs total weight.I thought the bout should run at least 12mph.Hi-Tek Rod holder's are next.Name: G3 1548 004.jpg

Not sure, but I thought a Big Foot motor had a lower gear ratio in the lower unit for use as a kicker motor or pushing a heavy pontoon boat. Might be why you aren't getting the speed you thought. Maybe a bigger prop? Just checked, different gear ratio in the big foot. Compare | Mercury Marine I have a 1654 Starcraft with a 9.9 2 stroke and only get about 8 MPH loaded with 2 people, 2 batteries, trolling motor and fishing gear. PS That's a sweet looking package!!! Had a G3 V170T, sure wish I never sold it.

heads up on that pedestal. It can throw you over the side.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
