Default Stockton last day of August

Me and a buddy fished the little sac arm this morning. We put in while it was still dark and ran over to our first pile. We had several keepers off that pile then the action slowed so we moved and hit a couple other piles to finish out our limits. We were back and loading the boat by 8:30 and only a handful of rigs in the lot. Pretty strange for a saturday on labor day weekend. It was also getting hot by that time with no wind. Fished beds in 16-20ft with 1/16oz heads with mikes custom jigs and midsouth tubes for baits in glow chart and shad colors. Most of the fish wanted a slow verticle presentation down in the brush this morning and were just off the edge of the thickest stuff. A little different than last weekend when they were suspended over the the thick stuff and wanted the bait on the drift. Good luck all.

I went today to many of the same places that have been very good the last few weeks and the fishing was terrible. We fished 2 piles and then had to load and wait in the lot to see what the storm would do, then we launched agian and the wind got up and the fish shut down. So we left in rough water white caps and only 8 keepers and maybe 8 to 10 shorts between us. My friend had enough to fry for his wife and girls but it was a joke compared to what we the fishing had been like. I told my buddy he was bad luck and never invited again. LOL. Hope you all get them tomorrow.
