I fished Bradford Sinks today on Redstone Arsenal. I started at daylight and had a limit by 7:15AM. I continued to steadily catch Crappie till I left at 12:15PM. Most were Black Crappie about 9 inches, plus or minus a half inch, but every fifth or sixth Crappie would be a larger Black Crappie or along skinny White Crappie. The Crappie were feeding on shad in 24 to 36 inches of water on the north side. The key today seemed to be most of the Crappie were on Lilly Pads. I was dragging 1/16oz white marabou jigs on six poles spider rigging. The Crappie were 18 to 24 inches deep. I would target isolated groups of Lilly Pads with a single pole catching several in a single spot. I’ll post pictures this afternoon when I clean them after it cools down!
