Well after reading several post about the Bandit 300's I decided to give them a try and I broke some planer boards and line counter reels and settup to troll. In my supiorior wisdom to my wife about fishing I choose the some cool chartreuse, and natural bait fish colors, based on water clarity of course. My wife keep nagging me about putting on the pretty purple one, I had to inform her that it is called the purple fire tiger and not a pretty purple one. well after blowing her off and informing her of my great knowledge about fishing because I read the post on Crappie.com, I finally relented and put on the pretty purple fire tiger just to make her happy.
Can any of you guess the outcome of the fishing trip. Ding ding ding we have a winner, yes I was shamed into admitting that after catching 6 crappie, a freaking huge cat and a stripe bass on the pretty purple fire tiger and not a single fish on any of the other lures, that my wife was right. I guess I will be placing and order for some more pretty purle fire tigers to run on the other 3 rods. Maybe i should have my wife pick out some pretty decoys for duck season this year.

"G" Gone but not forgotten!!
Been there, done that.
The fish in Blood River on Ky Lake should be so thankful to me and my fishing buddy quackrstackr for brightening up their surroundings. The bottom on a certain ledge should look like a Christmas tree today since we left a dozen or so Bandits hung on stumps and stake beds Saturday afternoon. I just couldn't resist the urge to troll cross-wind on a ledge that is like a sawblade and not at all well defined on my Navionics Premium card. The pucker factor was great when my GPS map shows I should be in 20 feet of water but my locator says 8 feet under the boat. A couple of passes ended our trip up and down that ledge. It doesn't seem so bad until I break out the debit card to replace all the special colors I no longer possess. There are some pretty purple down there too.

Normally if you have the same color on all the rods they will not bite that color... seems the case for us anyway. Normally if you only have one color of one bait, that will be the one they want. We normally only run 2 of the same color even if it tends to be producing more fish at the time. Never know when those crappie are going to change their mind.

Same way here, I will only run the same color on to of the lines that are biting. The others I will change up and will usually catch some on all the lines. Except I always have one rod that doesn't catch anything I don't know why.
Have you not learned yet, they are always right?? :+(
My wife picks the colors on her rods. I pick the colors on my rods. Doesn't matter who catches the most as long as we are catching.
Yea you would think that after 20 years of marrage I would know the two rules. She is always right and her pay check is hers and my pay check is hers. I have to admit it has been a lot of fun this week talking about our fishing trip together, the ribbing and all.

That purple fire tiger worked for me the last few weeks. I only had one and it's gone now.

My son's girlfreind educated me on a pink roostertail. Someone gave it to me and I wouldn't fish with it. She was the only one that wore some redears out on a reef in Ouachita a couple of years ago. I don't know how they know that stuff.
