Default Trolling cranks is covered up and down on the site... How about trolling jigs?

    All,

I am struggling to nail down the right technique/presentation to troll jigs. All summer long I've been watching a guy drag 1/16 oz lead heads with pearl colored 2" twisters annihilate the biggest white crappies i've ever seen. He fishes a 16' deep V tracker and runs a 10-12' pole out of a rod holder from the bow. I usually see him make a long cast and then run 1-1.5 mph in 8-12' of water.

Does anybody on here know of any "fine print" or finesse required for this presentation that I may be missing?

Sounds like you got the perfect guy to talk to, most are eager to share knowledge.

Search "longlining". There should just be a few hundred pages on the technique.
