I see a lot of ya'll use these spider rigging, but do you always use them with minnows or do you sometimes use them by themselves?

I always use minners, but..... I caught a few during the spring as I was first putting my rigs out, BEFORE I put minners on. So, You can catch em without, but I was not willing to test it much beyond the first few minutes of fishing.

on a double rig I use a gnat on top and a crappie logic jig on bottom, on half of my poles . the other half I put just the opposite . I will sometimes try the jig without a minnow but never the gnat . like Iwannafish, IT DON'T TAKE LONG WITHOUT A BITE TILL THERE ARE MINNOWS ON ALL HOOKS .

Man, I really like spider rigging but can't stand the thought of having to fool with minnows. I just keep hopping to find the silver bullet.
