    Default Terrova vs Power Drive

Is the Minn Kota Terrova easier to deploy and retrieve than the Power Drive. I like the electric steer but I hate all the problems with a transducer and cable on the outside of my power drive. If I change to a new trolling motor is it worth the price to get a terrova with a transducer US2, IF it is easier to get into and out of the water.

    Yes, yes and yes!

I've had both and the Terrova is much easier to deploy. Almost went over the nose of my boat a couple of times trying to get my Power-drive back up. It may blow your budget for a while but the Terrova with US2 and I-Pilot is well worth every $.01. I twisted off 2 transducer cables that would have covered the price of the US2 on the Power-Drive.

Just keep in mind that the US2 cable works best with regular 2D sonar. That is what I have on mine and I really like it. I am not sure the US2 will work at all with downscan due to the difference in frequencies but I am not a techie so I could be wrong.
With all that said, I think the Terrovas with US2 and I-Pilot is the best money I ever spent (on a boat, anyway).

I got a new Terrova sittin' in the floor waiting on a boat to show up. I had a V2 for yrs with no problems. Made a laydown brush pile out of a Motorguide.

Yes, had my Terrova for 5 or 6 years at least and love it. First it was not wireless so I ordered what I needed and made the change my self. Now just got the iLink and me and my neighbor put that in. It's a great TM and I have hot more stumps than you can count.

Have the PD V2 and love it, but have fished out of boats with the terrova. If I ever buy another one, I will spend the extra on the terrova. Hard to deploy the PD for sure.

My eleven year old daughter can deploy the Terrova with ease.
