We caught a couple limits and about 40 more small ones yesturday at a small state lake. A handful came out of 12-14' of water, but most were in brush from 5-7'. I think all the shad in the area played a big role in the location of the fish.

Ok, went out yesterday evening dipping some trees and casting lures finding them spread out one here one there. Ended up in a small cove east of where lynn and roberts start, and found a small cove full of 2 inch shad. The water went from 18 feet to 4-6 ft pretty quick in the cove. So we decided to throw the net for some of those shad since nothing else was working all that great. The cove was FULL of shad with fish bjsging the surface all over. We could even see the crappie next too the boat chasing them, so we baited up with some live shad and started nailing em, of course they were all different sizes, but it we were catching fish. They were even eating em dead on the hook under the bobbers. Ended up with 12 keepers with the biggest going 12 in. As the crappie bite slowed down the cats started hitting em under bobbers and dropped straight down the side of the boat halfway down in the water. Once It got completely dark the bugs became so thick we were breathing them In, so we got out of there in a hury. Lots of fun can't wait to get back out.

Very good report! Sounds like a blast. Any size to the catfish?
