looks good....please keep us posted!!
It was a gamble but it worked and it's so much nicer not worrying about shredding my cable deploying and reversing.
I drilled the housing at the base of the shaft and ran the transducer cord inside the motor shaft.
Sealed it with a metal two part epoxy we' ll see how long she lasts.

I'd be interested in how this turns out.
I have a couple of old hand controls I drilled the shaft just above the motor on. Cut cable and feed it up through the shaft then spliced. Used the same epoxy and they have been like that for 12/15 years with out a problem.

can you post a pic of the top side where the cable comes out?
Attachment 133214 just like cray said I cut and spliced the cable. And that's awesome info I'm glad I didn't make a 800$ mistake lol.
How many wires are inside the TD main wire/cable ??
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
I'd be concerned about the bond between the epoxy and the cable. I think I'd goob the whole works over with some RTV.
