Default Encourage our youth to get outdoors

I was talking to another Crappie.commer today. Comparing notes or whatever. We were talking about how it is diffacult to get some kids up early to go fishing or whatever. Seems like they sleep late or have their own agenda ( video games , hanging out with friends , shopping , cell phones, ect.) Our sport is not being picked up by our youth and it is sad. Just to think they have things to do like video games and such instead of enjoying the outdoor life. Remember to take a kid fishing and encourage them to take a break from this technology that seems to control too many lives these days.

very true, very sad but very true!!the ratio seems to be 1 out of about 5 times I ask , little buddy says yea I think I can go........ and I have made sure not to burn em out. when they say their done and ready to go , make it happen or they may not want to go again. even if it is a 2-1/2 hr drive to get there !!

Not much more fun than putting a kid on some fish. Nimrod has been doing this for quite some time now. Some of the kids have been young and some of the "kids" have been much, much older. Keep up the good stuff CA and save a fish for us in a month or so.

If I took my kids rigging, that is all they would want to do. They are learning to tight-line, and are loving the "thump". We fish under cigar floats some, and it is funny watching their reaction time early in the trip.

Dad and son I guided for today was sorta like that. The son was not interested at first. The first fish almost pulled to rod out of his hand. At the end of the trip the dad asked about another guided trip for another child, that one insisted he get to go again too! lol
