Default New boat progress.... Electronic Joystick Boat Steer complete..Comments?

A little progress rundown about my new boat project. Had my friend Mr. T at the Tn Technical College machine cut and mount the joystick in this 5x5 cast aluminum waterproof box. Perfect fit. I have chosen to use the V Lock for mounting the box. I like the spring loaded lanyard release which should may it easy on my arthritic hands. I don't know exactly how/where I will mount the box until the boat arrives.

The electronics has/is performing flawlessly when steering my Jon Boat. I am betting my life on my own capabilities. Actually, linear actuators are more reliable than cable steer. Ask any airline pilot. ha

This is a steer by wire system, just like F35 (kinda). I am having a special linear actuator made that is water repellant or I should say it is submersible.

Comments are welcome, pros and cons.

Maybe you should be making these items up in triplicate or 10 at a time, then you could sell us on C.C a whole set for boat so we could order ourselves a boat set up by you. Hey you could charge us a few bucks over your cost to defray your expenses(well some of them) then you would have new boat rigged for free(parts wise) and 10 of the happiest fisherman around. could name the boats Cane Pole Jr.'s
Sounds like you are having a ball setting up your new boat.....................

I could do a Wii controller. They pretty simple. However, solar flares interfere with radio communications and might turn my water craft into a "landing craft".

I believe the solar flares of late (last 10-15 yrs) are a major contributor to the so called global warming. NASA is looking at the flares now with one of the new "Go Pro" satellites.

that could make things interesting......far as global warming, my theory involves political figures and all the hot air & crap that flows forth from them........how about a jet engine to go along with the jet like steering? think we can hook somthing like that up to my ole bass boat?????????Id be the talk of the local tourney series
