    Default Ky Lake fishing thermometer...yep...

I ain't had a lot to do lately. So, here is a gif about fishing Ky lake. It is based on factual data I have acquired over the years. I don't fish on bad weather days, so I did not account for bad weather days in this gif.

The green lines represent transitional temperatures. Notice in the spring how many transitions take place.

Temp readings were based on data from my Eagle Ultra Classic. It is pretty accurate.

I did the gif in Paint. It ain't purdy cause Iza gettin' older.

Just to share.............These are water temps by the way...........

    Hey Tom,

You are way too smart for me. 'Splain how I can tell the spring temps from the rest of the year. Or are they all combined? I'm confused.... but it doesn't take much

Sorry. Spring fishing (to me) is Mid March to Mid May. Water surface temps range between 50 to 70 degrees. Lots of transitions during this temp range.
This is based on records I have kept over the years...If you read the water temp then you get a good idea how deep to fish...I'll bet on this info....

Is this too complicated? I can complicate things.....

Cane Pole, this is very interesting, is this in a natural lake or a reservoir? Are these depths in around cover or points, or is it just random? good post!

Great post Tom. I agree with you very much that the water temp is a major key to finding and following the crappie and you've just documented it. Ain't experience a great teacher?

Nope, that cleared it all up for me. I can be slow.

Great info now, once I understand what you are relaying!

Actually you had it simplified. I was trying to make it too complicated.

Hmmm.. I might have to try it out on my home lake and see if it correlates.

Resevoir. Ky Lake dam was finished in 1945. I watched the resevoir fill. I was just a kid. Been fishing here many years. Still have trouble catching fish sometimes...haha...This is a big resevoir..........
